This foundation level course is designed for students with beginning drawing experience. This course will focus on the development of acrylic painting technique and emphasize understanding the medium through color mixing, brushwork and paint handling. By observing the figure, still life, and photographs students will learn specifics of the medium such as value (light and dark), color, and composition. Class discussion and study of basic color theory with art-historical content will serve as supplements to learning technique. Foundation
